The biography 'Henryk Bukowski. The Name Lives On" recalls the figure of an extraordinary Pole, January insurgent, political emigrant to Sweden, where he became known as Scandinavia's most outstanding antiquarian. Bukowski also went down in Polish history as a collector and patron of the arts, who took special care of the Polish National Museum in Rapperswil.

Michał Haykowski's book describes the life and activities of the January Uprising insurgent and later political emigrant to Sweden, traveller, antiquarian and generous patron of the Polish National Museum in Rapperswil. This extraordinary biography was created thanks to correspondence preserved in the archives of several countries, providing an insight into the sender's thoughts and motives, his aspirations, duties, needs and whims. It allowed the author to enter the sender's mental world, to understand what kind of father, merchant, art expert and patriot he was.
