Biography:

Stanisław Pomian Wolski (1859-1894), né à Varsovie, peintre, représentant du courant des scènes historiques et de bataille.

Il acquiert sa formation artistique d'abord à Varsovie auprès de Wojciech Gerson, puis à Cracovie sous la tutelle de Jan Matejko. Grâce à une bourse, il poursuit sa formation à Munich, où il étudie également avec Józef Brandt. Il crée des scènes historiques, militaires et de genre. De retour à Varsovie en 1886, il collabore au "Tygodnik Ilustrowany". Il meurt jeune, à l'âge de 35 ans.
