Biography:

Wiktor Baworowski (1825/1826-1894), Polish bibliophile, patron of sciences, poet and translator, governor of Lviv. He founded the Baworowski Library in Lwów. He owned landed estates in Myszkowice, Luka Wielka, Baworowo, Zastawie, Łoszniowie and Krowinka. In 1848, he graduated from the Franciscan University in Lwów. As a translator, he mainly translated Romantic works, including Byron and Victor Hugo. In 1894 he took his own life, probably due to impending blindness.
