Wawrzyniec Dayczak (1882-1968) is a Polish architect born in Reniów, who realised many projects in what is now Ukraine. He studied at the Brody Gymnasium and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Lviv Polytechnic in 1914 . As a student, he founded the Drużyny Bartoszowe, which was the first pro-independence association of rural youth.


After completing his education, Dayczak found himself in the Austrian army, then defended the Galician capital between 1918 and 1919. He was also a representative of the Polish Military Cadres and took part in the activities of the Intelligence Branch of the Supreme Command for the Defence of Lviv .


Wawrzyniec Dayczak was certainly one of the most outstanding architects of his time. His specialisation turned out to be religious buildings . While still a student, he designed the Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland. While still a student, he designed the church of Our Lady Queen of Poland, in his native Reniów. He was also the author of the altar in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ternopil (the building no longer exists).


Dayczak also carried out a project for a chapel-mausoleum in Zboriv , paying tribute to soldiers who lost their lives during World War I, the Polish-Bolshevik War and the Polish-Ukrainian War. He also worked on the expansion of the spa in Morshyn as well as on restoration projects for tenement houses located in Lviv (e.g. Królewska and Czarna).


After the war, the architect moved to Jarosław , where he ran the " Miastoprojekt " studio and where he educated the younger generation in architecture and construction at the State Building School.
