Biography:

Franciszek Stadnicki (b. 1742, d. 2 March 1810) - Polish nobleman, Confederate of Bar, politician and land activist, starosta of Ostrzeszów (1768-1810), deputy to the Sejm from the Land of Wieluń, captain, knight of the Orders of the White Eagle and Saint Stanislaus.Son of Antoni Stadnicki, starosta of Ostrzeszów and Wyszogrodzki, and Teresa, née Potocka. Brother of Jan Kanty Edward Stadnicki, President of the Supreme Chamber of Justice.
He was a deputy to the Sejm in 1764, 1776 and 1780 from the Wieluń Land, where, among other things, he presented a proposal for a reform of monetary circulation. During the Bar Confederation (1768-1772), he fought as rotmistrz and regimental officer of the Kalisz voivodeship, and took part in the defence of Kraków, after which he was imprisoned by the Russians. He was freed thanks to the efforts of his cousin Teresa Ossolińska.
He was the owner of extensive landed estates in the Kingdom of Poland and Galicia, comprising seventeen estate keys, including Rymanow and Dukla.
Married to Teresa Wężyk, coat-of-arms Wąż, he had six children, including Antoni Wacław, Ignacy, Anna Małachowska, Tekla, Helena Męcińska (who brought Dukla as a dowry to her husband, Gen. Wojciech Męciński). He died in 1810; he was buried in the church of St Mary Magdalene in Dukla, where his tombstone is located.
