The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Būšėchė, which had a defensive function, was built in 1624-1638 and destroyed in 1674 during the Tartar invasion. The church was rebuilt in the 18th century. During the renovation of the temple, in the mid-19th century, the defensive elements of the church were dismantled: walls and towers. in 2018, the Polonica Institute financed the conservation of the entrance portal of the church.
