Cemeteries with Polish tombstones.

The cemetery in Bełz was probably established in the 1st half of the 18th century.

The cemetery in Uhnów has a rural character - gravestones grow directly out of the turf and there is no presence of alleys. It is still active and fairly well maintained, although graves with inscriptions in Polish are generally neglected. Unique to this necropolis is the presence of beautifully carved crosses and crucifixes, with a folk character.

The cemetery in Rawa Ruska, was probably founded in the 1st half of the 19th century. Still active, but the quarters with Polish inscriptions are very neglected. Many tombs have been stripped of their inscriptions and some have been appropriated.

There are about 400 Polish graves in the Uhnoiwe cemetery and the Żukowski Chapel from the second half of the 19th century. The stone tombstones are overwhelmingly from the "Brusno" stone workshops.

The cemetery in Krystynopol (Czerwonogród) was created in the 19th century. It is vestigial, has been closed for a long time and is very devastated. Only a few tombstones with inscriptions have survived.

The cemetery in Waręż was established in the second quarter of the 19th century. It is located on the eastern outskirts of the town of Warezh, on a small wooded hill.

The grave of the victims of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in Stanislowka symbolically commemorates the victims of the Upa attack on 14 April 1944. In 1999, the former inhabitants of the village erected a new cross and a plaque on the concrete pedestal of the then no longer extant cross to commemorate the fallen and murdered.

St. Mark's Church in Warža was built in the 17th century to a design by Jan Michal Link. In 1983 the vaulting in it collapsed.

2019
In the course of the project, cemeteries in Ukraine in Ostrów, Czerwonograd, Uhnów, Staje, Korczów, Belz and Uhrynów were cleaned up, where the surroundings of the church were also cleaned up. An inventory of Polish tombstones in the municipal cemetery in Rawa Ruska was started (bushes on Polish tombstones were removed and some inscriptions on the tombstones were cleaned).

In addition, cleaning work was carried out on cemeteries or places where Polish residents of the towns of Waręż, Łubów, Boriatyn, Zawonia, Stanisłówka, Wielkie Mosty, Żółkiew are buried. The surroundings of the church in Leszkow were also cleaned up. The set goals and results were achieved and even went beyond the planned tasks.

2020
The project involved cleaning up Polish cemeteries, plots of land, individual graves, the surroundings of chapels and churches in selected towns in the pre-war districts of Rawski, Zolkiew and Sokalskiy.

The assumed goals were met and even exceeded, i.e. extended to other burial sites and cemeteries. As part of the task, cemeteries in Czerwonograd, Korczów, Staje, Uhnów were cleaned. In addition, cemeteries in the villages of: Łubów, Waręż, Wielkie Mosty. The site of a symbolic grave in Stanisłówka, the surroundings of St Mark's Church in Warąże and the site of the former Roman Catholic chapel in Zawonia were also cleaned up.

An inventory of the municipal cemetery in Uhnów was started. Approximately 400, mostly stone tombstones from the overwhelming majority of the "bruśnień" stone workshops were catalogued.

A scientific search was also carried out at the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Lviv, and materials proving the location of the burial cemetery (as well as the earlier church cemetery) were obtained. The above-mentioned archives can be found in the Galician Governor's Office complex, the files of the Roman Catholic Consistory, the Greek Catholic Consistory and constitute correspondence between the above-mentioned institutions, cadastral maps, sketches and others. The search made it possible to identify other places where information about the cemetery in Uhnów may be found.

2022
In May, refugees from eastern Ukraine (Popasna, Lysichansk, Severodonetsk, Mykolayiv), staying at the local primary school in Uhnów near the Polish border, cleaned the surroundings and interior of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Uhnów. They cleaned the surroundings and interior of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (14 people). The work was coordinated by the school's director, Mrs Maria Tereszko. Next, the municipal cemetery in Uhnów was cleaned up. The local community participated in the work, with the support of Association members (8 people). Work at the cemetery and around the church in Uhnów also continued in June (12 people).

Polish organisations that carry out volunteer projects in Ukraine, due to Russia's aggression against the country, are now mainly involved in humanitarian aid. This time, local residents came to the aid of cleaning Polish cemeteries in Ukraine to thank Poles for their help. The Robim Co Możem Association from Ulhówka near Zamość is being assisted by volunteers from various parts of Ukraine as part of the project 'We clean up Forgotten Cemeteries of the Borderland 2022'.

Similar initiatives within the project were also undertaken at cemeteries in neighbouring border towns in Ukraine: Belz, Korczów and Staje. Clean-up actions were organised until 16.11.2022.

2023
The first part of the task was aimed at cleaning up the area of the disused cemetery in Vorokhta together with repairing, impregnating and painting the wooden pilgrim cross, as well as taking care of previously cleaned Polish cemeteries and places of religious worship in Belza, Stajivka, Korczów and Uhnów. As part of the task, information boards in Ukrainian, Polish and English were also erected at the cemeteries. One of the photos shows an example of such a board from a similar project carried out by the Association in Poland.

The second part was focused on queries concerning the cleaned cemeteries of the borderland in the Lviv Region State Archive in Lviv, the Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv (former Ossolineum), the Central State Historical Archive in Lviv.
