An original allegorical composition with genre elements - the bust of the writer, known for her texts for children and young people, is accompanied by two figures: to her left is a girl with a basket of flowers and a wreath of marguerites turning towards the deceased; to her right is a girl kneeling on books, focused on the reading held in her hands.

The sentimental composition of the tombstone is completed by the inscriptions: "Klementyna z Tańskich Hofmanowa Ziomkowie. 1848"; "All Polish children are my children". In addition, engraved on the centrally placed urn are the titles of the writer's works: "Pamiątka. Rozrywki. Kochanowski. O powinnościach kobiet. Krystyna. Secular writings. Memoirs".

In 1869, the writer Zofia Węgierska described the whole as follows:
"a bust of the author of 'Souvenir of a Good Mother' stands in the middle; on the right a little boy [sic!] sitting is reading 'The Binding of Helen', on the left a pretty girl climbs on her toes and extends her hand, wanting to crown the marble [sic!] bust of her benefactress".

"Children and books symbolise the idea that Hoffmanowa's talent served. Country girls in folk costumes and field flowers are a touch of folklore in Romantic art" (Dariusz Kaczmarzyk, p. 37). The monument with its compact composition, the uniformity of which is emphasised by the base common to all elements of the tombstone, is clearly reminiscent of Classical tombstones with a figure, or figures next to an urn with the symbolic ashes of the deceased. Genre motifs are quite unusual in the sculptural output of Władysław Oleszczyński (1807-1866).

The stone tombstone crumbled and was reconstructed in a cast-iron casting in 1883; this in turn was damaged at the end of the 20th century, while the bust itself was stolen. The monument underwent extensive conservation and restoration in 2008. (The writer's head was reconstructed by the sculptor Tadeusz Markiewicz (b. 1936) on the basis of engravings and drawings from the Polish Library in Paris.
