Polish souvenirs abroad

From Jan Pietrzycki, recently arrived from abroad, we receive the following message:

"When in 1916 - Mr Pietrzycki informs us - we unveiled a commemorative plaque on the house in Zurich where Towiański died, I was informed by the Zurich city council that his grave in the local cemetery was to be abolished, as no one had paid rent for the place of his grave for a number of years. I therefore organised an emergency contribution to the Polish circles in Zurich and nearby Rapperswyl, covering the outstanding rent up to and including 1916. Now, once again, Towiański's tomb is in danger of being removed. For information, I add that a grave in the Zurich cemetery cannot be acquired in "perpetual ownership".
