Moravian postcard - "Unusual profanation of the Cierlick tragedy"

A short note about a postcard issued by a company in Moravian Ostrava-Přívoz, which juxtaposes an inn with the grave of Żwirki i Wigury (Source: "Dziennik Polski", Czeski Cieszyn 1934, R: 1, no. 36, p. 145, after: Silesian Digital Library).

A modernised reading of the text

Unusual profanation of the Cierlick tragedy

What we have in our hands is a photographic postcard, edited by one of the Umelet publishing companies in Moravian Ostrava-Přivoz. The photomontage and the inscriptions on this masterpiece are outrageous to the core and must therefore be addressed by the public. The postcard consists of four images, depicting the crash site, the nearest inn, a general view of the grave and the grave itself. The strikingly cheeky juxtaposition of the inn with the site of the tragedy is telling. The inscriptions in Czech and "alleged" Polish are also meaningful, as the publishing house is primarily counting on selling postcards among the Polish community, which is overwhelmed by the disaster. They read as follows:

Terlicko - Cierlicko. Zwierky i Wigury start do wlecznosti
U miesta dopadu - Miesce tragiczne. Celkový pohled - Całkowy vzgled.
U hrobu hrdinu - U hrobu bogatyruw.
Nejbližší restaurace - Surrounding restaurant.
