MARIJA
CERIŅA
26 June 1909 – 8 February 2003

HERE LIES
OUR MOTHER

Description:
A family plot with a rectangular main gravestone and several horizontal slabs. The main gravestone takes the form of a low, polished stele set on a plinth. The upper part features a cross and the abbreviation ‘Ś † P’. The horizontal slabs are simple, made of dark stone, with engraved crosses and floral decoration.

2. Jan Butrym’s gravestone

Object type: gravestone
Material: stone , probably granite or sandstone
Date: after 1911

Inscription:

Here rests in God
Jan Butrym
born 1845 14 Feb.
died 2 Apr. 1911.

May he rest in peace.

Description:
A small, compact standing gravestone with a rounded top and a recessed inscription panel. There is a visible indentation at the top, probably where a cross or decoration once stood. The inscription is in Polish, featuring the characteristic old abbreviated form of the months.

3. Gravestone of Eleonora Olseiko and Józefa/Józef Berzin

Type of object: family or double grave , with a low inscription wall
Material: concrete or artificial stone, engraved plaque
Date: 20th century

Inscription, working transcription:

ELEONORA OLSEIKO
JUZEF[A?] BERZIN[A?]

Description:
The grave is surrounded by a low concrete border, with a simple vertical slab or inscription panel. The inscription is set within a rectangular field with a dark background. A cross is visible on the left-hand side of the panel. The inscription is heavily worn and requires re-reading under side lighting.

5. Cast-iron grave cross

Object type: gravestone cross
Material: cast iron
Date: late 19th or early 20th century

Inscription:
The inscription is preserved but illegible from the photograph. Fragments of letters are visible on the horizontal beam of the cross, but the degree of corrosion and the lighting do not allow for a reliable transcription.

Description:
A decorative cast-iron cross with elaborate, ornamental ends to the arms. The form is typical of mass-produced metal cemetery crosses from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The surface is heavily corroded, with localised biological growth.
