The monument was unveiled in 1993 on the square next to the Latin Cathedral. It commemorates Colonel Jerzy Wolodyjowski. Founded by local Poles, it has the form of a tree trunk, at the base of which is a capitol with a granite ball bearing the inscription "MAGNA RES LIBERTAS //.". The whole is crowned by a dove with a branch in its beak. The plaque bears the inscriptions: "MEMORY / OF / MR COLONEL / JERZY / WOŁODYJOWSKI / HECTOR / KAMIENIECKI / AD - MCMXCIII //." and "LIFE / IS A SHRIEG / SHOOT / RESURGAM //.". A fragment of a gravestone from the cemetery in Kamieniec Podolski, destroyed during the period of Soviet rule, was used for the monument.
