Information about the object:
The Catholic cemetery in Chisinau is located in the part of the city called Rose Valley. The cemetery is believed to be established in 1822, and before that there was a garden and a boarding house for the elderly. It is an international cemetery (Poles, Armenians, Germans, Russians, Italians are buried here), but is traditionally called "Polish" by the city's inhabitants.

The Catholic cemetery of the nobility in Raszków is located in the eastern part of the village at the edge of the forest on the left side of the road turning to Rybnica. Tombstones from the mid-19th and early 20th centuries have been preserved in the cemetery to this day. The necropolis is still active and occupies an area of approximately 1 ha.

The tombstone of Canon Mikołaj Ćwikła consists of a textured granite base and four elements made of marble. The first cuboidal element is topped with a diagonal profile tapering upwards, on which another cuboidal element ending in a concave quarter is situated. The last element is a tall, cubic block of marble shaped like a rectangular trapezoid. On its diagonal surface is carved an open book with an inscription that is barely legible today. On the front wall in a similar state of preservation is another inscription with, among other things, the name of the deceased. A small marble cross has been preserved on the horizontal surface above the book. The tombstone is surrounded by a metal fence set in concrete blocks which act as a foundation.

The tombstone of Antoni Haman is one of the few surviving marble tombstones in the Catholic cemetery in Raszków. The tombstone consists of a textured limestone base and five architectural elements made of marble. The base of the tombstone is a cuboid terminated by a chamfer, the next element is terminated by chamfers with a convex and concave shaft. The next element is finished with an elaborate cornice and contains an inscription. The whole is crowned by a column situated on a cuboid terminated by a remnant of a capitol.

2021
The project is a continuation of activities financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in previous years and is a strategically important activity related to the preservation of Polish historical heritage in Moldova. The decision to implement it was made on the basis of consultations with experts and representatives of the Polish Embassy in Chisinau.

The work consisted in carrying out conservation work in the Polish Catholic cemetery on the tombstone of Canon Mikołaj Ćwikła (in Chisinau), the tombstone of Antoni Haman and the fence of the tomb of Zenonia Heyman (in Raszków).

2022
As part of the project, conservation work was carried out on the tombstone of Justyna Wodzicka and Maria née Wodzicka Kosko at the Polish Catholic Cemetery in Chisinau. In addition, year-round care was given to the Catholic cemetery in Rashkov. The project is at the same time a continuation of the long-standing activities at the above-mentioned cemeteries, funded by the Minister of KiDN, and represents an important action for the preservation of Polish historical heritage throughout the region.
