Cemeteries with Polish gravestone monuments.

Completed works:
The implementation of the project consisted of cleaning up Polish burial sites in Ukraine, in the villages of: Lubieszów (cemetery); Maniewicze (church area, Legionaries' quarters); Holuzja (forest area, search for Polish graves in the area indicated by villagers remembering the former Polish cemetery).

Volunteers cut unnecessary bushes and grass, marked symbolically the discovered burial sites, collected materials to make an inventory of the gravestones (inventory activities). The work was carried out by students of the Polish School under the direction of Polish language teacher Julia Harytoniuk, representatives of the Ewa Felinska Polish Cultural Association, Lutsk residents and the local community.

The project also included 'living history lessons' conducted by foundation volunteers (history teachers, a historian, a tourist guide) and a teacher from Ukraine. Volunteer young people from Poland, young people living in Ukraine and the community involved in clean-up activities took part in the classes. Educational activities took place, among others, in the historic building of the Piarist College, which was attended by Tadeusz Kościuszko. Photographic activities relating to the monuments of Lubieszów were also carried out with young people.

On the basis of the materials collected, the foundation is conducting #świetlikedu education activities, which include interactive presentations related to the cultural heritage of the sites selected in the project. These materials will be downloadable and usable by educational institutions both in Poland and Ukraine.
