The transporting of the remains of the Civil War hero General Krzyżanowski, which will take place in Washington on 11 May, will be a great manifestation of the outstanding role of Poles in the history of the United States. Undoubtedly, the echoes of this ceremony will become, for the American public, one of the evidences of the great contribution made to the life of the United States by the five-million-strong Polish exile.

As part of the ceremony, representatives of President Roosevelt will take part in paying a final tribute to the hero. Following the laying of the remains at Arlington National Cemetery, there will be a grand military revue, wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and at the monuments to Kosciuszko and Pulaski, a reception at the Polish Embassy in the afternoon, and a grand banquet at the Wardman Park Hotel in the evening
