The note reports on the restoration of the frescoes by Franciszek Smuglewicz in the library of Vilnius University dating from 1803. The work was carried out in 1828 by Jerzy Hoppen. The Smuglewicz frescoes are being restored in the University Library. The work is being carried out by the painter J. Hoppen. Last year, students of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Vilnius University cleaned the valuable monument, but it will have to be completely reconstructed from the remaining traces, as the Russians had painted over them with oil paint in their time. On the other hand, a valuable fresco on the vault, dating back to the time of the Jesuit Academy and depicting the adoration of the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Jesuit Fathers, was saved. Jesuits.
