Information about the object:
The local parish was erected in the mid-14th century during the reign of Casimir III the Great. A brick church already existed in 1427, when it was endowed by King Władysław Jagiełło. In the 17th century, as a result of repeated fires and invasions, the church was destroyed and rebuilt several times. The largest fire in the history of Stryj in 1886 caused the ruin of the church and completely destroyed its valuable furnishings. Reconstruction lasted until 1891, when the church received an eclectic design with a predominance of neo-Gothic elements, while relics from the Renaissance were preserved. After the Second World War, it was one of the few churches in the East to remain active, thus avoiding damage and completely preserving the uniform neo-Gothic furnishings from the turn of the 20th century.

2023 (stage II)
This task is the next stage of restoration and reconstruction work on the façade of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Stryi, Ukraine. The planned scope concerns the eastern part of the northern façade. Analogous to the previous seasons, the intention is to: carry out horizontal insulation by injection, carry out stratigraphic uncovering of the existing plasterwork, replenish the plasterwork, conserve or restore the drawn cornices, stone details and decorative elements made of Romanesque cement.
