From 2014 to 2023, I conducted ethnographic research in New Caledonia. The story of Polish exile Antoni Berezowski inspired me to share the fate of our compatriot with a wider audience by preparing an exhibition board for the Bourail Museum. I covered the preparation of the exhibition with my own funds. The graphic design of the plaque was prepared remotely by Kamil Wróbel, my friend's husband. The inauguration of the exhibition took place in November 2018 at the Bourail Museum in the presence of the village mayor, his two deputies, Mr Jean-Pierre Aïfa (the previous mayor of the village, son of Taïeb Ben Assen deported to New Caledonia from Algeria), and my Caledonian friends.

Since then, at the Bourail Museum, you can find out who the Pole was - who everyone mentions when passing by the "Pole's Hill" in the north of the village.
