Photographs and notes of Polish souvenirs abroad from the collection of J. Pietrzycki

A short note, richly illustrated with photographs from J. Pietrzycki's collection, shows photographs together with descriptions of Polish traces in exile, including in Zurich and Paris. Moreover, thanks to Pietrzycki's efforts, several commemorative plaques related to Juliusz Słowacki, Adam Mickiewicz and Andrzej Towiański were also unveiled (Source: Tygodnik Illustrowany, Warsaw 1919, Półrocze I, p. 496, after: Digital Library of the University of Łódź).

A modernised reading of the text.

Pamiątki polskie na obczyźnie.

On the initiative and thanks to the efforts of Jan Piętrzycki, who had been living abroad for several years, a commemorative plaque to Juliusz Słowacki was unveiled in Geneva, in the Pâquis district, on the house at 34 de Monthoux Street, where our poet lived between 1833 and 1836. Thanks to Piętrzycki's efforts, a plaque was also unveiled in Lausanne on the house at 1 de la Grotte Street, where Mickiewicz lived in 1840, and in Zurich on the house at the junction of Mainan and Lettenstrasse, where Andrzej Towiański died in 1878.
