A magnificent chapel hiding the burials of the family of Herman Epstein , one of the richest entrepreneurs operating in the mid-19th century in the lands of the Kingdom of Poland. There was erroneous information in the literature about the death and burial of Herman Epstein in Warsaw in the Jewish cemetery on Okopowa Street. Also buried in the grave were members of the Lange family related by Herman's daughter Maria.

Likeness: In the interior on the back wall on a decorative stone crozier is a bust of Herman Epstein probably in bronze.

It was bought in 1867 by Mieczysław Epstein [Herman's son] for a family grave (information by Mrs. B. Kłosowicz from Paris, who found the chapel). In the cemetery records (in the AMP there is an erroneous entry about Mieczyslaw's burial and not Herman's); according to the Burial List: Epstein Miecislas. redeemed (ACQ. d'avance) conc. no. 986 1867 with an area of 3 m 20 cm, cemetery no. (gen.?) 307 155.

Lucie Lange (born 11 March 1861 in Paris, died 17 December 1933 in Paris), daughter of Léonce Elie Lange (1833-1912) and Marie Epstein, wife of Henri Camille Piquard (or Piguard, 1857-1924). She was buried on 19 December 1933 (gen. no. 307165, annual no. 1457, merostie death certificate no. 1242). She was married on 11 December 1882 in Paris (AdP AM Paris 8e no. of 1882). At the time of her marriage, she was living with her father at 25 Faubourg Saint Honoré. Her father, Léonce Elie Lange, was 49 years old at the time and was an estate agent (propriétaire). Her mother, had died earlier. Henri Camille Piquard, a commercial agent (courtier de commerce), was the son of Achille Piquard (aged 57, commercial agent) and Julie Nelly Schayé (aged 46). At the time of his marriage, he lived with his parents at 97 rue Saint Lazare. The marriage of Lucie Lange and Henri Camille Piquard produced a daughter, Nelly Marie Geneviève Piquard, who was born in 1886 in Paris, in the 9th arrondissement.

Pierre Ernest Delaistre (1834-1907), architect, graduated from the Ecole des beaux-arts in 1856, in Paris, realised 'le Sous-Comptoir' (un des sous-comptoirs dépendant du Comptoir d'escompte) and several projects between 1877 and 1899 (a tomb monument at Père-Lachaise, hôtels particuliers du parc Monceau.(Edmond Delaire et alii, Les architectes élèves de l'École des beaux-arts, 1793-1907, Paris, librairie de La Construction moderne, 1907, Michel Fleury (dir.), Anne Dugast , Isabelle Parizet, Dictionnaire par noms d'architectes des constructions élevées à Paris aux XIXe et XXe siècles, Paris, Service des travaux historiques, 1990-2003, https://agorha.inha.fr).
