Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje was designed by three Polish architects: Wacław Kłyszewski, Jerzy Mokrzyński and Eugeniusz Wierzbicki, who formed the 'Tigers' group. Construction of the building took place between 1969 and 1970. It was a gift from Poland to Macedonia, given in support after the devastating earthquake of 1963, which devastated the city and claimed many lives.

Many famous artists from all over the world, including Poland, donated their works to the newly established museum. Among them are works by Polish artists such as Jan Berdyszak, Jan Cybis, Jan Tarasin and Jerzy Nowosielski.

The building itself is distinguished by an irregularly shaped terraced layout. It consists of a complex of four buildings that surround a square courtyard and a separate wing connected by a connecting gallery. The building's construction is based on reinforced concrete elements, and the raw concrete walls are complemented in part by marble and aluminium cladding.
