Tombstone of Saturnin Marian Eagle

Chorostków | Ukraine

Burial site marked by an obelisk on a two-stage plinth and base. Obelisk on a two-stage plinth. First and second step of pedestal with chamfered upper edges. On the first step of the pedestal a panel bordered by a fluted frame with eyelets probably after a photograph. On the obelisk at the front an engraved cross with arms ending in triangular caps.

First step of plinth covered with moulded panel. The second step of the plinth tapering upwards, surmounted by a simplified beam. On the front side of the pedestal, a panel repeating the shape of the pedestal, in which an engraved inscription is placed (1). Below, in the same panel, an engraved inscription in two columns separated by a groove; in the left column (2) and in the right column, a continuation (3).

Inscription:

1. Tu spoczywa / SATURNIN MARYAN ORZEŁ / emer. c.k. nadstrażnik skarbu / ur. 7. 4. 1852 zm. 27. 3. 1902 //

2. Gdyby łzy te co płyną po Tobie / Perły białemi na grób Twój upadły / To jeszcze gwiazdy co w wieczornej / dobie / Świcą tam w górze, przy nich by pobladły //.

3. Tak płaczem Ciebie a łzy nies= / płakane / Wciąż nas w to miejsce wiodą ukochane / Splyń ku nam cicho gdy na Twoim / 

grobie / Do Ciebie tęskniąc, marzymy o Tobie //.
