Dedication of the Polish House in Paris.

On 26 February, the dedication of the House of Polish Associations on Croulebarbe Street took place in Paris. In the overcrowded hall of the House, the gathering was addressed by Lt. Col. Fieldorf, the interim manager of the House, who briefly described the present state of the House, enumerated the Polish associations which had already found refuge there, and handed over the symbolic keys of the House to the Consul-General, Dr Poznański. In his reply, the Consul-General emphasised the importance of this day in the life of the Paris emigration. However, the Polish colony must soon build its own large Polish Emigration House in Paris, on its own premises (on which barracks for the unemployed have been provisionally erected).

For the time being, we must make do with what we have. The emigration leaders and social workers and the youth are to be brought up in this house. Counsellor Gruszka then drew attention to the need for Polish emigrants to take an active interest in the construction of the future Polish House, for which they must tax themselves. Paris is the largest Polish colony, and the smallest it has ever been. President Kołczak went on to say, bringing "on this island of the Polish spirit, a shout in honour of Poland, its Wlodarz, Mr Mościcki and Marshal Piłsudski.
