Grave of Rev. Jozef Grzesiowski, victim of World War II

On 24.07.1943, the bandits kidnapped Father Józef Grzesiowski, the parish priest of Pistyń, from his rectory and murdered him near the village of Szeszory, which belonged to the parish of Pistyń. The next day the priest's funeral took place. He was buried next to the church. It is an earthen grave with a metal cross on which was placed a black metal plaque with an inscription in white letters: "Ś.P. Here rests the priest Józef Grzesiowski died tragically on 26.7.43. Peace to his soul".
The German criminal police were informed of the incident and took photographs of the victim and arrested the two Ukrainians suspected of the crime; however, the trial did not take place.
