Biography:

Katarzyna Zofia Potocka, née Branicka (1825-1907), born in Luboml, daughter of Władysław Grzegorz Branicki and Róża Potocka, aristocrat, social activist and philanthropist. In 1847, in Dresden, she married Adam Józef Potocki and settled in the Cracow palace "Pod Baranami". She supported fire victims after the Kraków fire, financed scientific work at the Jagiellonian University, and founded schools, credit unions and charitable institutions. She founded churches and the palace in Krzeszowice, where she carried out social activities. She was chairwoman of the Charity Society in Kraków.
