Biography:

Leon Dolżycki (1888-1965), Lviv-born painter, graphic artist and pedagogue. Between 1907 and 1912 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. From 1912 he was a teacher of drawing in Lviv. Between 1914 and 1916 he served in the Polish Legions. After the First World War, he worked in Borysław, Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Warsaw, also taking care of the stage design of the Grand Theatre. During the occupation, he conducted secret teaching. From 1945, he taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and later at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Wroclaw. He created portraits, landscapes and still lifes.
