Biography:

Zdzisław Kulikowski (1919-?), born in Vilnius, painter and stained-glass artist. During World War II, he was a soldier of the Home Army in the Vilnius region. After repatriation, he settled in Toruń. He studied at the Vilnius branch of the Leningrad Institute of Fine Arts, then at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, where he graduated as a painter. He worked as a pedagogue at the art school in Toruń and at the Nicolaus Copernicus University. Member of ZPAP, multiple chairman of the section of interior design. He designed sacral and secular interiors, stage designs and stained glass, among others, for churches of the Włocławek diocese and interiors of the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz. Author of the painting presented to John Paul II during his pilgrimage in 1979.
