Bust of Clementine of Tansky Hoffmanowai. On the back of the reconstructed bust sig.: ART. RZEZBIARZ / TADEUSZ /
MARKIEWICZ / WARSAW 2008 //.

After restoration, the inscription is authenticated. Quoted by Hoesick p. 129; in M. Kasterska's article, Stulecie pomnika Klementyny z Tańskich Hoffmanowej, "Placówka" Tygodnik Polityczny, Społeczny i Literacki, no. 8, Paris 21 August 1948; in a slightly modified form it is also quoted by Lipkowski p. 203; Mróz : Pamiętnik; Klementyna Hoffmanowa's works: Pamiątka po dobrej matce, czyli ostatnie jej rady dla córki. By Młoda Polka, Warsaw 1819; Rozrywki dla Dzieci, the first Polish periodical for children founded by K. Tańska-Hoffmanowa, published between 1824 and 1828; Krystyna. Novel, vols. 1-2, Leipzig 1841, Jan Kochanowski in Czarnoles. A picture from the end of the 16th century, by the author of Karolina and Krystyna, vols. 1-2, Leipzig 1842; Memoirs, vols. 1-3, written in 1818-1845, Berlin 1849; The same inscription "Mothers and children pray a Hail Mary for her soul" can be found in the cloister of the church of the O. O. Reformati in Warsaw, placed in the cloister of the church of the Reformati in Warsaw. Reformati in Warsaw, placed according to her wishes (see O autorkach polskich, a w szczególności o Sewerynie Duchińskiej : 3 odczyty Czesława Pieniążka na cel dobroczynny w dniach 21, 24 i 28 listopada 1871 r. w Dresźnie, Poznań 1871).

The inscription is nowadays almost completely obliterated. It was located on the base of a sculptural group cast in cast iron. Pictured between 1893-1898 (BN iconographic collection): ALL POLISH CHILDREN ARE MY CHILDREN; quoted by Hoesick p. 129 with a difference in the spelling of the word "mojemi", M. Kasterska , op. cit. with the difference 'my'. A rather indistinct photograph kept in the ATOZ files from the 1930s shows a faintly legible inscription: "All children[...] [--] my children". On the other hand, according to a note (ATOZ) made by Jan Szymanski probably in the 1930s, the inscription would read: "All your Children are my Children". This is an incorrect reading of the inscription.

Inventaire gén. p. 233 gives a different verse division which can only prove that the inscription was reworked with the exact original wording during the restoration carried out by the Care Commission .... in 1893; Janusz A. Mróz at the time of the restoration of the tombstone in 2008 wrote out the inscription with changes in. 5 SA VIE ENSEIGNAIT (Frost: ENSEICNAIT) LA VERTU, FEMME PIEUSE, MODESTE, ACCOMPLETIE (Frost: ACCOMPLETIE) and 7 OÛ L'AVAIENT CONDUITE (Frost: CONDUETTE) SON PATRIOTISME ET SON DÉVOUEMENT D'EPOUSE, however in the course of the restoration the inscriptions were re-cut correctly.; a fragment of the initial inscription also on the lithograph of the tombstone signed W. Bassler Lith.

A copy of the inscription on a lithograph printed by Dr. v. I. Braunsdorf before 1854 (iconographic collection of the National Library in Warsaw, sig. G.64280); Prosper (1853) pp. 109-110: Où sont deux petites filles, l'une avec un panier de fleurs, regardant un buste au-dessus d'elles; l'autre lisant un livre à la main; fuseau, balai, etc. (Where there are two little girls, one with a basket of flowers, looking at a bust above them; the other reading a book in her hand; a spindle, a broom), est la tombe de Clémentine Tanska HOFFMAN, née à Vorsovie 1798, morte à Passy 1845.

Inventaire gen., l.c. does not give this inscription. M. Kasterska op. cit. erroneously notes that "numerous inscriptions, exclusively Polish, appear on this tomb"; In 2008, during the restoration, Janusz A. Mróz read: "SAEPE MISER VOLUET PATRUUS OCCUMBERE TERRIS/ SEDRUSTRA HUNC ILLI FATA DEDERE LOCUM", a lesson that is wrong in many places, words 1,2,3,6;

The bust that originally existed was stolen in the 1980s or, according to the suppositions of Janusz A. Mroz, it may have fallen off the pedestal as a result of a weak joint with the plinth and crumbled completely and its remains may have been removed by the cemetery. In 2008 it was reconstructed by Tadeusz Markiewicz on the basis of the iconographic information in connection with the renovation of the tombstone commissioned by the "Polish Community" Association. In preparing for the bust reconstruction work, consideration was given to using the bust of K. z Tańskich Hoffmanowa made by Jakub Tatarkiewicz, which is kept in the National Museum in Warsaw.

ZKwBP [Polish Society for the Protection of Human Rights] notice: On the 4th of this month, i.e. next Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at the cemetery, Père La Chaise [s], the inauguration ceremony of the memorial to the late Klementyna Hoffmanowa, née Tańska , will be held; to which the surviving husband invites his honourable friends and countrymen. It will begin with a Funeral Mass in the Cemetery Chapel. Paris, 1 October 1848"; Recueil 1855 p. 189: Hofmanowey [s] section Q, nos du Plan 77; gravestone made by Wladyslaw Oleszczyński originally in stone (limestone?) (1848), cast in cast iron in 1883 (Słownik Artystów Polskich t. VI, Warsaw 1998 p. 254); La sculpture dans les cimetières de Paris, in "Revue de l'Art Français Ancien et Moderne" vol. 13 (1897) p. 221 "Hoffman (Clémentine Tanska), femme de lettres, née à Varsovie le 23 novembre 1798, décédé à Passy le 21 septembre 1845. - Stèle surmontée du buste de l'écrivain (H. G"' 45); à gauche de la stèle, une jeune fille ayant dans une main une corbeille de fleurs et dans l'autre une couronne de marguerites; à droite, une autre jeune fille, à genoux sur des livres, fait la lecture. Ces deux statues sont en bronze et mesurent 0^90 et i'"i5 de hauteur. Sur la face antérieure de la stèle, on Ht: " Klementine Z. Tanskich Hoffmanowey Ziomkowie 1848, " Sur le côté gauche du monument est gravé: "morte en exil où l'avaient conduite son patriotisme et son dévouement d'épouse. Monument élevé par la reconnaissance de ses compatriotes. " (26^ div.)"; In 1869. Zofia Węgierska described the whole thing as follows: 'the bust of the author of "Souvenir of a Good Mother" stands in the middle; on the right a boy [s] seated is reading Helenka's Binding, on the left a pretty girl climbs on her toes and extends her hand, wishing to crown the marble [s] bust of her benefactress'; F. Hoesick, Paris, Warsaw bd., pp. 255-256; restored in 1930 through the efforts of TOZ (BPP dep. TOZ syg.1);
