Reconstruction of the church in Bohorodchany

A short press note describes the rebuilding of the church in Bohorodchany near Stanislavov, which was destroyed during the World War. This was possible thanks to the efforts of Rev. Dr. Edward Herman. The painting was done by the Lviv resident Kazimierz Smuczak, and the goldsmith's work by Mr Kwiatkowski (Source: "Wschód", Lviv 1936, no. 33, p. 2, after: Jagiellonian Digital Library).

Reconstruction of the church in Bohorodchany.

The church in Bohorodchany near Stanislaviv, which was destroyed during the World War, has now been completely rebuilt, thanks to the energetic efforts of Father Pastor Dr Edward Herman, who, with the support of state, local and church authorities, and the generosity of the public, managed to bring this work to completion. The temple was magnificently finished and renovated. The painting was done by the Lviv painter Mr Kazimierz Smuczak, the restoration of the three altars and the pulpit by the gilder Mr Kwiatkowski, the two beautiful confessionals by the artist Mr Martyniec, a student of the Cracow Academy, and the carpentry work by Mr Czałczyński. The first thanksgiving service in the renewed temple was conducted by Fr. Magierowski from Lysiec, and the sermon was preached by Father Jesuit Mroczko from Stanislawow.
