The Polish Museum of America in Chicago

The Polish Museum in Chicago is an institution whose mission is to collect and preserve Polish national heritage in the United States and to promote Polish culture. The official opening of the museum took place on 12 January 1937, although the idea itself appeared as early as 1928. The Museum's collection includes many valuable works, by outstanding Polish artists such as Olga Boznańska, Leonard Pękalski and Andrzej Pronaszko. From 2018 to 2021, the Polonica Institute funded the conservation of some of the works of the Polish Museum in Chicago.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC houses the sculpture '4 Sitting Figures', by Magdalena Abakanowicz. The work was made in 2002. The sculpture, which bears the hallmarks of an installation, was created from jute canvases fixed with resin, in the shape of a human figure. The decapitated and handless figures were then placed on metal frames. The work belongs to a series realised by Abakanowicz from the mid-1970s, when the artist moved away from making artistic textiles to working in harder materials.
