Tombstone of the Demartres family and Hélène Nowakowska de Lebeaume

On pedestal stepped thick, sloping, lightly pitched slab with plastic cross, on slab at head low pedestal against which rests plaque with inscription, on pedestal traces of fence.

Inscriptions: on the transverse arm of the cross (1), on the slab to the left of the cross under the transverse arm (2), on the slab to the right of the cross under the transverse arm (3), on a white marble plaque standing on the slab (4) and on the left side of the slab (5).

Gustave Demartes (1848-1919), mathematician, professor at the University of Lille

Hélène Rose Marguerite Geneviève Nowakowska de Lebeaume (1896-1940), born on 7 August 1896 in Asnières (Seine), daughter of Eugène Joseph Charles Labeaume and Julie Caroline Jeanne Nicolau, resident in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Wife of Sergiusz Nowakowski (born 18 January 1887, in Warsaw, decorator, son of Tedocech and Maria Nowakowski, resided at 162 bd Péreire, died 4 April 1945 in Paris at 37 bd Jourdan). Died on 18 September 1940 in Paris at the age of 46. Buried on 21 September 1940 in the Père-Lachaise cemetery, in a concession recorded in the B.C. burial books under the annual number 1116.
