In the Brazilian state of Paraná, in the town of Foz do Iguaçu, there is a bust of Tadeusz Chrostowski, a Polish ornithologist and traveller. In 1910, he embarked on a research expedition to Brazil, where he discovered many species of birds in the Paraná forests. One hundred years after his death, on the initiative of a group of Brazilians from Foz do Iguaçu, with the support of the Polish Consulate General in Curitiba, it was decided to commemorate the Pole. A bust of the scientist was placed in the Parque das Aves, amidst nature and birds. The unveiling ceremony of the monument, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Chrostowski's death, took place on 21 November 2023.
