In honour of Maurycy Mochnacki.

On 6 January, in the town of Auxerre in France, where the remains of Maurycy Mochnacki lie buried in the local cemetery, a ceremony will be held on the initiative of former veterans of the French department of Yonne to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the death of this writer and political activist from the November Uprising.

Wreaths will be laid on Mochnacki's grave by a representative of the town of Auxerre and the Polish military attaché, Colonel Błeszyński, who will make commemorative speeches. This will be followed by a solemn academy in the hall of the local theatre, at which speeches will be given by Ambassador R. P. Chłapowski, representatives of the local authorities and delegates of French veterans. A lecture on the activities of Maurice Mochnacki will be given by Abel Moreau. The ceremony will conclude with a concert by the renowned Polish pianist Zygmunt Dygat.
