Consecration of the church in Jagiellonovo.

A new church dedicated to St Stanislaus the Bishop was built in the settlement of Jagiellonov near Khodachkovy Maly, in the Ternopil district. A beautiful brick church, covered with sheet metal, this church shoots out its gothic spire into the vast Borderland distance. It was built thanks to the efforts of Polish settlers and the post's commander, Stefan Podkowa, with great material support from the voivode, M.A. Malicki, and the present Ternopil starost, M.A. Adamski. Large crowds of Polish people from the most remote areas came to Jagiellonovo for the solemn consecration of this church. Numerous ranks of the Riflemen's Association gathered and presented themselves in the strength of the 1st Battalion.

The Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed in the strength of 1 company. The Railway Military Organisation from Ternopil also arrived. The people welcomed Mr Adamski, as the representative of the Government and Superintendent of the construction of people's houses, churches and chapels in the Ternopil district, at the triumphal gate in Chodaczkovo Male, where the head of the village, Franciszek Głowacz, presented him with bread and salt in the old Polish manner, after which a pupil from the local school presented flowers to Mr Adamski, while a pupil welcomed Col. Pfeifer as a representative of the Army with an occasional poem.

A procession of about 2,000 people arrived in Jagiellonovo from Chodaczkovo Male, accompanied by orchestras. The act of consecration of the church was performed on behalf of the Archbishop by Fr Ferenc, dean of Skilak, surrounded by parish priests from Borek Wielkie, Kołodziejówka and Haiuszczyniec. Fr Partykiewicz, pastor of the parish to which Jagiellons belongs, thanked in heartfelt words Mr Governor Malicki and Mr Mayor Adamski for their help in the construction and all those who had contributed in any way to the temple. Rev. Dean Ferenc preached a solemn sermon, and after the service, starost Mr Adamski spoke in front of the church, appealing for the newly consecrated church to be a symbol of reconciliation, love and harmony between the Poles who had lived on this land for centuries, soaked in the blood of Polish knights defending the borders of the Republic of Poland and the faith of their fathers.

In turn, Prof. Dr. Przyboś, on behalf of the T.S.L. Circle in Ternopil, expressed his joy at the creation of the House of God on the fields where battles to defend the Catholic faith had been fought for centuries. The ceremony was followed by a parade of the branches of the Riflemen's Association, the Railway Military Organisation and the Volunteer Fire Brigade, which was received by Starosta Adamski and Col. Pfeifer. The ceremony was also attended from Ternopil by deputy mayor MA Zając, chairman Czabanowski, Rev. Szuba, headmaster Kielar, Count Ostrowski from Krasówka and numerous local teachers. This celebration was the start of festivities of this kind in the district, as this period will see the consecration of People's Houses in Biala, Lučka, Kutkovce and Iwačov Dolný, and the consecration of churches in Dubovce and Ostrava, as well as the rectory in Jankovce.
