A beautiful celebration of grammar school youth in Bogumín.

The First Adam Asnyk State Gymnasium in Bogumín in Zaolzie experienced a very nice celebration on Sunday, the 4th of October, At the invitation of the school's management, a delegation of female students from the Municipal Secondary School in Katowice attended the unveiling of a bust of the school's patron, Adam Asnyk, by the sculptor St. Majchrzak from Krakow, which the students and teaching staff of the secondary school in Katowice presented to their colleagues from Zaolzie on the happy day of their return to Poland.

After heartfelt speeches by the director of the establishment, Dr Jakubowski, Prof. A. Targ, and representatives of the young people (A. Gorska, grade I lic. h. Katowice, and J. Poklutek, grade VII Bogumin), the bust was solemnly unveiled by the representative of the W.O.P., Visitor Sołtys, who emphasised the ideological testament of the poet-patron in his work and social activities, and which should become the guideline for the spiritual work of the young people of this school. The recitation of Asnyk's poem "To the young" and songs concluded this moving ceremony, which was an expression of the unity of hearts of the borderland youth and a fraternal shaking of hands.

An excursion to the Odra border, a joint lunch and games at the school fete were a pleasant addition to consolidate the knots of youth friendship that had been forged.
