RECENT ARTICLES

We are constantly working on developing our database. In this section of our service, you can explore the twenty most recent entries. The database records objects related to Polish cultural heritage located beyond the country's contemporary borders. It primarily includes objects created before 1945, such as works of art, architecture, engineering, and other artifacts, as well as contemporary items of significant cultural importance (e.g., tombstones of prominent individuals, remarkable works of art, and important buildings).

In this section of the website, you can follow the latest information and descriptions of objects related to Polish cultural heritage outside the borders of Poland. Each new entry is another step in uncovering and documenting the rich history of Poles around the world. We invite you to explore the latest updates added to our database.

Among the diverse entries, you will find information about the burial places of Poles in various corners of the world. From war cemeteries (see the catalog of war cemeteries) to individual Polish graves scattered worldwide. This part of the portal is divided into descriptions of war cemeteries and documentation of other tombstones and necropolises (see the catalog of civilian cemeteries). This division reflects the different nature of these sites and the methods used to document them. Each entry is a piece of our history.

In the catalog of polonica, you will find information about all traces of Poland worldwide. Here, we present monuments commemorating prominent Poles or significant events, buildings, and other works of art essential to Polish cultural heritage.

Among the latest entries, you will also find information about more ordinary items and places that accompanied Poles in their daily, often challenging, lives. These might include valuable family heirlooms donated to museums or seemingly insignificant objects that nonetheless serve as precious traces of Polish life abroad. We also invite you to follow posts about historical polonica (the full catalog is available here).

By following the latest entries, you can also learn about ongoing restoration and conservation projects, new publications from the Polonika Institute, and initiatives implemented within grant programs.

The page with new entries offers an opportunity to expand your knowledge and serves as an inspiration for further exploration. So, in the spirit of the language of old Polish advertisements: don’t miss any updates—regularly visit the “New Entries” page, and stay up-to-date with information about Polish cultural heritage abroad!
