A modernised reading of the text

Folk House in Byczków.

Byczków, once a royal village, remembering the times of King Władysław Jagiełło, and belonging to the crown estate of Borek - today's Borek Wielkie - in the Tarnopol district, gathered large numbers of Polish people from the area to celebrate the consecration of the People's House there, built through the efforts of the Tarnopol Superintendency of the Construction of People's Houses, Churches and Chapels, and the toil of the local people.

After the mass, which was celebrated by parish priest Weretczak in Borki Wielkie and during which he preached a beautiful sermon about the love of the Homeland, a great procession set off to Dyczków, which was preceded by units of the Riflemen's Association and the Fire Brigade with an orchestra at the head. Many intelligentsia from Ternopil and the surrounding area were there. The ceremony was also honoured by Governor Malicki, who was enthusiastically welcomed at the triumphal gate with bread and salt, while girls dressed in Cracovian costumes presented him with flowers.

The Polish Army was represented by Colonel Major Franciszek Polniaszek. The Folk House, decorated all around with garlands of greenery and national flags, looked beautiful. It is to be a centre of socio-educational and economic work, and a forge for forging beautiful civic characters in the new generation of Polish villagers. After the consecration, Fr Weretczak, Wróbel and Mazur spoke from the balcony.

Their speeches emphasised that Poles are the landlords of this land, and that the People's Houses are fortresses for the defence of Polish property. At the inscription in the memorial book, the participants of the ceremony paid a more serious amount. During the reception, the Governor, Mr Malicki, and Colonel Dr Polniaszek spoke, pointing out that Poles will then be good stewards of this land when they all get together to do economic work and mostly devote their abilities, strength and resources to this work.

A longer speech was delivered by inspector Mr Błoński, who called for the consolidation of Polish society and working together for the good of the Fatherland and the Polish nation. Prof. Szołajski concluded the ceremony with a speech entitled "Let us love each other". During the ceremony, a choir of young people sang and an orchestra from Czemielów Mazowiecki played.
