The Consul General of the R. P. in Ottawa, Mr. Jan Pawlica, unveiled, in the presence of Canadian Prime Minister MacKenzie King, a plaque to honour the 200 Poles who, during the Canadian Revolution of 1837-38, came from the United States to the aid of the Canadians and, in the village of Windmill, where the plaque is now unveiled, took part in a battle that lasted several days (November 12-16, 1838). Polish, Canadian and US army veterans assisted at the unveiling of the plaque, which is the second memorial to the Poles in Canada.
