Celinowacz - Polish village in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Celinovac is a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republika Srpska in the municipality of Gradiška. In 2013, 36 people lived here. It is considered to be the only village in the country that has preserved its Polish character. The Association of Poles and Friends "Mak" Gradiška is active here and the Pirogijada festival takes place every year. At the entrance there is a board with the name of the village in Polish, Bosnian and Serbian with a drawing of pierogi and a board with the most important points of the village. Within the village there is a Polish church and a shrine to the Virgin Mary, and in the nearby cemetery the oldest graves belong to Poles. Among the local attractions, there is also a signpost showing the number of kilometres to Polish towns.
