Polish school in Dobracice.

The liberation of the border municipality of the Těšín district gave Dobracice the Polish school that had been longingly awaited for many years. The inhabitants of this village, after long efforts with the Austrian authorities, had already received a promise in 1909 that their children would be educated in the mother school. However, Czech influence thwarted these efforts of the local population, and when the Czechs seized the community, they suppressed every national manifestation of the local population. Those who openly admitted to being Polish were constantly harassed by the beleaguered Czechs.

However, despite the harassment and persecution, the Poles in Dobracice persevered, saintly believing that the moment of liberation would come. To protect their children from the prey of Czechisation, they sent their children to the neighbouring village of Ligotka Kameralna, to a Polish school. The Polish school in Dobracice, which opened after liberation, was welcomed by the local population. A total of 127 children immediately enrolled in the school.
